"I regret the name I chose for my daughter," she wrote. "My daughter is 5 and I named her Emberly, but I call her Emmy. "At the time, I named her I thought it was really cool and unique because I got the name from a children’s book author I loved from my childhood (Ed Emberley).
" The parent explained that it wasn't the name itself that she had qualms over, it was the fact that other kids had similar names. "But now, there are so many kids nicknamed Emmy from other Em___ names," she said. "I really wish I had named her one of my favorite names rather than trying to come up with something unique.
"I wish I had named her Daisy or Sadie or Rosie. I wish I could change it, but it doesn’t really work that way."
