A BARGAIN shopper has shared the contents of a $2 box they picked up at a yard sale. They were shocked to discover jewelry inside, but they were further blown away by its value. Redditor Sandshaman shared their lucky thrift find in a viral post.

"[I] ended up paying $2 for this box since I grabbed a few other things at the yard sale," they said. After making the purchase, they were surprised to find out the wooden box wasn't empty. "I couldn't believe what was inside," they said.



"Opened this up and it was full of silver, gold, and some gems." A quick search revealed that the jewelry was worth much more money than what they'd paid. "One of the gems alone is going for $400ish on eBay," they said.

Some commenters advised them to get the jewelry properly evaluated for an accurate estimate. "What are the necklaces marked as? Make sure you get everything checked by a jeweler," said one commenter. "I bought a cheap chain marked 14 [karat] (paid $2) and it turned out to be fake.
