House Of The Dragon had a massive fanbase even before the TV adaptation kicked off, so what was the outcome of the Dance Of The Dragons in the bestselling book series? The second season of the Sky and HBO prequel is heating up, now halfway through its current run with more excitement on the horizon as a third season has already been greenlit. With the fourth episode titled Dance Of The Dragons on the way, fans of the novel series bearing the same name are reminiscing about the events that unfolded in George RR Martin's masterpiece. A whirlwind of events transpire during the Targaryen Civil War, but ultimately, it's Rhaenyra who seizes King's Landing.

However, after her uncle/husband Daemon perishes in battle, she finds herself defenceless when the populace turns against their Queen. Consequently, Rhaenyra opts to flee, but upon her return to Dragonstone, she's greeted by her half-brother Aegon the Second. He executes a brutal and unforeseen move by commanding his dragon Sunfyre to slay Rhaenyra, first incinerating the Queen and then consuming her, sparing only a portion of her leg.

Following his mother's demise, Aegon the Young is held captive by Aegon the Second, but Sunfyre is severely wounded from the war and succumbs to his injuries shortly after killing Rhaenyra.
