A streaming platform in a press statement confirmed the renewal while the series is currently airing its second season, as of press time.

“We could not be more thrilled to continue the story of House Targaryen and watch this team burn bright again for season three,” said Francesca Orsi, head of HBO Drama Series and Films. For Orsi, the renewal of the series is a fruition of the cast and crew’s “dragon-sized” efforts in bringing the series to life. “George [R.

Martin], Ryan [Condal], and the rest of our incredible executive producers, cast, and crew, have reached new heights with the phenomenal second season of House of the Dragon,” she added. “We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two.

The series also narrates the events 100 years afte.
