July promises to be coated in entertainment and loads of fun with multiple highly anticipated premiering on streaming giant, Netflix, this month. Anticipate explosive doses of drama and action in House of Ga’a when it hits Netflix on July 26. In this film, Bashorun Gaa recounts the rise and fall of a ruthless kingmaker who wielded deceit and voodoo to reign, only to be undone by his own blood.
Directed by the prolific Bolanle Austen-Peters, House of Ga’a is set in the 18th-century Oyo empire. The historical drama stars an array of popular actors including Femi Branch, Mike Afolarin, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Ibrahim Chatta, Dele Odule, Bimbo Manuel, Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Adebayo, Gabriel Afolayan, Jide ‘JBlaze’ Oyegbile, Seun Akindele, Yemi Blaq, Adeniyi Johnson, Muyiwa Ademola, Willam Benson, Gbenga Titiloye, and Kunle Coker. This is coming on the heels of Austen-Peter’s last movie on Netflix, Man of God, which won the Best Actress award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) and was also nominated for the Best Director and Best Costume Designer awards.
