Kiefer Sutherland swears by a Greggs sausage roll and not just for the pastry’s taste. The 24 star, who was introduced to the high street chain’s staple by his bandmate, reckons the grease helps protect his vocal cords. “Grease is not a good word, but there’s enough around a Greggs sausage roll to lubricate your voice quite well, and quite nicely,” he says.
“I’ve found it helpful on more than one occasion. We go there so much.” But as the 57-year-old actor also prepares for two action films, Stone Cold Fox and Sierra Madre, he admits that it is harder to stay in shape now he is older.
And no, that’s not from all those sausage rolls he’s eating...

I run a lot, and that’s kind of the foundation of everything. I’ve got my version of a lightweight workout there that hopefully keeps you trimmer – light weights, heavy rotation, thing.
