The controversial upcoming movie, , which released on 7 June 2024 across India, has been banned by the Karnataka government in the state for at least two weeks, and until further notice. Multiple news reports have stated that the decision has been taken in accordance with the Karnataka Cinema Regulations Act 1964, Sections 15(1) and 15(5). According to the same reports, the Karnataka government alleged that the release of , which has been directed by Kamal Chandra, will create communal tension in the state.

The authorities made this decision after considering requests from several minority organizations and delegations, and after watching the movie’s trailer.
