Greg Rutherford shares 'terrifying' ordeal after skylight shatters Greg Rutherford was left “shaken” as he took to Instagram to reveal his skylight had “exploded” while he was standing just a few steps away in the kitchen. The retired British track and field Olympic athlete filmed the aftermath of the shocking incident, explaining his children had narrowly missed being injured by the falling shards of glass. The family’s living room was covered in glass, with the sofa and the floor around it being most severely hit.

Speaking over the video, Dancing On Ice star Greg exclaimed: “One of the most terrifying experiences - one of our skylights up here just exploded - just, literally, me standing in the kitchen watching the TV on the wall, and it just went - bang! And glass went everywhere.” Dad-of-three Greg went on to share that his eight-year-old son Milo was sitting in the living room under the skylight just minutes before it broke. He recalled: “I kid you not, two minutes before, Milo was down here doing some school work, and I said, ’it’s a nice day, go out on the deck, mate’.



“Thank God I did that, because if not, I can’t even imagine what could have happened. I have no idea if it’s the sun that’s heated it up, and it’s happened, or if something like this happens. I cannot explain to you how terrifying.
