Despite being single-player games, the PC version of God Of War Ragnarök and Until Dawn will require a PlayStation Network account. The heavily rumoured PC version of God Of War Ragnarök was officially announced during Sony’s State Of Play presentation, but it isn’t all good news. Over recent months, Sony has caused some frustation with the implementation of a new policy which requires players to have a PSN account in order to play its PC ports.
While it sounds like a minor inconvenience, the issue is PSN isn’t accessible in 177 countries and territories around the world. The recent PC version of Ghost Of Tsushima was delisted from those countries because of this issue, although you were only required to sign into PSN if you wanted to play the co-op multiplayer mode. Now, however, Sony has confirmed the policy will apply to single-player titles – for some reason.
Following its reveal at Sony’s State Of Play, the Steam page for God Of War Ragnarök shows a PSN account will be required to play when it launches on September 19. The same also applies to the upcoming remaster of Supermassive’s narrative-driven horror Until Dawn, which is released in autumn this year on PS5 and PC. Why Sony and PlayStation, just why? There are no multiplayer features whatsoever in God of War Ragnarok, it’s a purely single player experience.
All this does is block tons of countries from being able to access the game. https://t.co/1o9LfpcXUC so helldivers didn’t require a psn acc.
