GEMMA Collins has claimed she knows why Joey Essex's relationship with Love Island star Samantha WON'T work out. The 43-year-old spoke out about her former Towie co-star who is looking for love in the villa this summer . Despite being coupled up with scouser Samantha, Joey appears to be hesitant about rushing into anything - and Gemma thinks she's worked out the 'real' reason.
Speaking to The Sun at the book launch of Steve Bennett's Fibre First Diet, Gemma said: "Love will happen for Joey. I know this is going to sound really cliche, but in order to find that love, you do have to love yourself. "It happened for me when I was so good in my own skin, I'd worked up to where I wanted to work to.
"I was so independent, I didn't need no one and that is when love come for me out of the blue. "But even if you don't find love and even If you want to go through this life without a partner, that's OK, too. "We're all conditioned to think that finding someone is going to make us happy.
"The real answer to that is you've got to be happy with yourself and once you master that, then love will come in or you will be fine in life." Gemma - who is engaged to be married to her other half Rami Hawash in 2026 - added: "I love Ramy. "Ramy loves me, but if Ramy walks out of my life tomorrow or I walk out of his, we still exist as humans.
" Joey, 33, says he's finally ready to marry and have children. It's after he started going to therapy to deal with the death of his mother, who took her own life .
