Gavin Plumb subjected Holly Willoughby and other women to pure terror - and now he's facing his own nightmare behind bars. The former security guard has now been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 16 years, after being found guilty of plotting to kidnap, rape and murder the former This Morning presenter. The court heard how the sinister plot had had a 'life-changing' impact on Holly, and Plumb's defence barrister claimed that he was 'devastated to be the cause of such pain' to someone he 'worshipped and was obsessed' with.
Plumb, described as a 'really dangerous individual' by Det Chief Insp Greg Wood, devised his grim plans with alarming detail on the horrifying online chat room Abduct Lovers, where he spoke of how he would kidnap the mother-of-three from her family home. And Holly wasn't the only woman he targeted. Plumb, 37, was previously caged for t hreatening two 'terrified' 16-year-old girls at knifepoint while working in a Woolworths store in November 2008.
He even tied one girl up in the stockroom, before the other girl thankfully managed to escape and raise the alarm. Two years previously, in 2006, Plumb attempted to kidnap two different women on separate occasions, just two days apart. In both instances, Plumb tried to force his targets to get off a train with him, threatening that he would hurt them if they didn't comply.
Now vile kidnap plotter Plumb, who wept as the guilty verdict was read out at Chelmsford Crown Court , will likely fear for his own .
