GAVIN and Stacey's boss has issued a fresh update to fans on the show's final ever series after Ruth Jones 'leaked' death spoilers. The beloved BBC comedy is returning for one last episode this Christmas, bringing the show to an end. Ruth Jones and James Corden previously revealed how they'd penned the special, confirming The Sun's original story.

With the pair keeping the script under lock and key, the head of BBC comedy has said he's not even laid eyes on it yet. Jon Petrie said: "They are really keeping it under wraps and don't want people to see it outside of their very, very tight circle until they're 100% certain of it." He continued to tell the Daily Mail: "I think it will be hard when they are filming it because it's such a huge show and everyone will want to watch, everyone in all the locations where it's shot, it will be obvious what's being shot.



" His comments come after Ruth, 57, revealed how she was 'leaking' the ending of the show to fans . The actress is adored by millions of fans for her role as Nessa Jenkins in the hit BBC sitcom. She told the Wondery podcast Brydon & podcast: "A couple of people at the stage door, say 'What’s going to happen, is Smithy going to say yes?' "And I go to them, 'Do you seriously want me to tell you what’s going to happen in the Christmas Special?' And they go 'yes!'.

And I go 'but you don’t, because what happens on Christmas Day when you come to watch it, you’ll know what’s going to happen.' And they go, 'please tell me.
