As players wait patiently for the arrival of Starry Studio’s post-apocalyptic shooter Once Human, some have wasted no time expressing their displeasure with the developers—specifically on their decision to omit OCE servers from the game. Even though the game’s pre-release phase largely came and went without a hitch, a portion of the community already plans to skip it entirely due to this issue (unless the dev team can address it immediately, that is). For those unfamiliar, OCE refers to Oceanic servers, which cater to people in Australia and New Zealand.
Without OCE servers, AUS/NZ gamers would struggle to play Once Human since it practically guarantees high ping/latency, making the game unplayable. Naturally, several players have since brought this problem to the attention of Starry Studio by creating an official request through the game’s Discord server. The request, created by user Nezza, argues that adding OCE servers would “significantly improve the gaming experience” since it would eliminate problems typically associated with playing in different regions.
They further claimed that “the current situation is not ideal as bad ping is ruining games and affecting the player base.” The request has since gained backing from many other affected users, with the post displaying 74 upvotes as of writing. Unfortunately, Starry Studi.
