That someone made the approximately 50-mile drive was not a huge surprise to manager Sue Larsen. The title of the store in the small town of Tekamah includes the tag “Every Woman’s Dream Shop.” The tasty pastries have been called the world’s best.



“That brings people from all over,” she said. The cinnamon rolls are made by hand from owner Susie Robison’s family recipe, which she’s spent years perfecting. A staff of a few mothers and grandmothers produce anywhere from six or seven dozen a day to 169 dozen when there is a special event.

But that number will jump. Master’s Hand was chosen as a bonus stop in the Nebraska Passport Program , a new feature this summer celebrating a big milestone. “Because it’s the 15th anniversary of the program, there’s 15 bonus stops to celebrate those 15 years,” said Madison Johnson, the Passport Program coordinator for Nebraska Tourism.

Cinnamon rolls are prepared on a tray at Master’s Hand in May 2024. The cinnamon rolls are one of the most popular items at the store. Those bonus opportunities are in addition to the 70 regular stops across Nebraska, which have been chosen from 301 applicants.
