Fortnite is getting infused with some heavy metal today when update v30.10 goes live, with all four online modes getting a touch of Metallica. Fortnite is getting its first major update of Chapter 5 Season 3 today, and when the downtime ends in a few hours, there's going to be a lot to look forward to.

The rumoured Metallica collab has been confirmed and Lego Fortnite, Battle Royale, Rocket Racing, and (of course) Fortnite Festival are all getting a little something to celebrate the occasion. We're also getting a new, 16-player PvP Fortnite Festival mode called Battle Stage, and an in-game concert (dubbed "immersive music experience") next weekend. First up, the concert.

Metallica : Fuel. Fire. Fury kicks off on Saturday, June 22 and runs across the weekend, with six showtimes.

The final Saturday show is in the extremely early hours of Sunday morning, hence the 4am BST outlier: Saturday, June 22 Sunday, June 23 You'll find the Metallica Fortnite experience on the Discover screen for 30 minutes for each if these showtimes, so you've got a half hour window to log in and participate, rather than having to be there at the exact times listed above. Of course, Fortnite Festival is the mode getting the most Metallica love, and Epic Games is pulling out all the stops with Fortnite Festival Season 4's debut of the PvP Battle Stage in which 16-players can battle it out with only one emerging as the ultimate music god. And of course, there's a Festival Pass, alongside updates to the Jam.
