01 has been given a May 31 release date on PS5 , PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X , Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. Surprisingly given the lack of new content, the Friday morning update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which kicks off when matchmaking is disabled at 8.30am BST UK time.
While server maintenance is never a good thing, Epic has hinted that the game won't be offline for a lengthy period of time, which means we shouldn't be without Fortnite for too long. The flipside, however, is that the new update probably won't add any exciting new features and content, so don't get your hopes up for any new weapons, POIs or items.
