Sean Magee’s version of has racked up more than 2.8 million listens across TikTok, YouTube and Spotify since August last year. The 29-year-old was initially unaware of its success because he and wife Aine, who is also his manager, were on a round-the-world wedding and honeymoon.

Sean told : “I couldn’t believe it. It was the first proper song I released and I didn’t really know what to expect, but it just took off. “Myself and Aine released it in August and then went to get married in Lanzarote in September.



We then went on our honeymoon, so we were away from everything. “We had a week in Lanzarote and then we went to America for a month — we did Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans. Then we went to the Bahamas and Florida, followed by a gig in New York, before heading home.

It was great, and to come back to the news about the song was the cherry on top. “When we came back, it had just blown up, and then about a month ago it reached a million streams. It’s continuing to climb and is at nearly three million now, which is unbelievable.

“It was a bit like an extra wedding present to return to. It was a really good close to the summer. “It was such a surprise to see it had gone viral on TikTok and so on.

“I’ve just released my new song Ballyconell Fair. Hopefully it goes some way similar. It was the first song my dad taught me to sing.

” Sean, a multi-instrumentalist and former Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann champion from Enniskillen, grew up with his music in.
