GARETH Gates’ daughter is following in her dad’s footsteps with dreams of becoming the next pop idol. The proud dad, 39, has shared that 15-year-old Missy has got the entertainment bug from him and now hopes to take the stage by storm in her own career. Now he’s hoping to support her and make sure her dreams come true.
Speaking to MailOnline , the star said: “She's got a great voice. She's a great dancer. The more that she gets to be in and around that music world, the more that she learns.
“She dances every night after school. You know, she's kind of going through all of her grades.” He added that he plans to sit down with Missy to create songs in the near future.
The star added he hopes the tracks will help her land a record deal. Gareth shot to fame in 2002 after taking part in talent competition, Pop Idol, coming in a respectable second place in a head-to-head with Will Young. Since then, he has continued to tour the UK, with him heading out on tour later this year, fronting a tribute show to Franki Valli and The Four Seasons.
Missy, who Gareth had with his ex-wife Suzanne, has therefore been around the limelight since birth, and now wants to try it for herself.
