Luther Vandross' music still lives on after his death. On May 31, Primary Wave Music, with Vandross' estate, will be releasing the official music video to the singer's hit 1976 song “Funky Music (Is A Part of Me)." The video will feature "unseen footage since the '70s" of a then twenty-something-year-old Vandross at the Steel Pier Atlantic City show performing his classic hit on stage.

In an exclusive clip shared with TODAY.com, viewers get a first-look at the video, which shows a retro television set with Vandross and his background singers coming into focus. Eventually, the TV disappears as the frame now shows the singer dancing and belting out lyrics while he and the four singers dance to the rhythm.



"Every time I hear funky music, I just can’t stand still," Vandross croons. "I’ve got to move. He continues, "Every time I feel my motor getting in gear, Funky music is somewhere near.
