EMMERDALE appeared to hint at a second shocking domestic abuse plot after broadcasting scary scenes between one couple. Fans of the ITV soap opera were left worried when the show appeared to hint that a split could be on the cards for one of the programme's beloved couples. Moira and Cain Dingle were left in a heated row when she branded him "weak and pathetic" as the Dingle clan were left in turmoil over Samson's stabbing and Matty Barton being behind bars .
In tonight's episode, things between the couple got even more tense as they were left coming to blows in shocking scenes. Despite Moira attempting to apologise for her previous verbal assault on her husband, Cain wasn't interested and instead he sought out some alone time at the pub. Sinking a slew of pints, he refused to stop sulking as it became clear he had been deeply affected by Moira's outburst.
Eventually, Charity ordered him to head home and "sort it out" as she insisted the family did not need to deal with the pair splitting up on top of everything else. Before he made it back up to Butler's Farm, Moira was catching up with Amy who told her all about how Matty had become convinced someone in the prison was on the verge of attacking him for being transgender . As Cain strolled in drunk, Amy and Moira were left looking on disgusted as he imitated Amy's thick Geordie accent as he asked her: "How was our Matty?" As Amy attempted to offer up an answer, Moira butted in to say: "Oh don't bother, he is in no fit state!".
