After working with blockbuster auteurs such as Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve, is now adding to her impressive list of collaborators. Blunt is in early talks to join Spielberg’s next feature, has confirmed. The feature is written by David Koepp, who worked with Spielberg on , , and Universal has dated the film for the prime summer spot of May 15, 2026, marking Spielberg’s first summer offering in a decade following in 2016.

No plot details are available for the project, but it is described as an event film, a genre the filmmaker helped invent with features such as and . Spielberg has won three Oscars, including for best director and best picture for , and for best director for . He was last in theaters with the autobiographical for Universal.



Kristi Macosko Krieger will produce the new film. Blunt earned an Oscar nomination for Nolan’s , and was last in theaters leading , both for Universal. She also had a voice role in husband John Krasinski’s kid-friendly feature this summer.
