The history of what is now Emerson Park will be the subject of the next edition of an Owasco museum's speaker series. Local historian Robert Norton will present "You Heading to the Park" at 6 p.m.

Thursday, June 13, as part of the Martha Shaw Harvesting History Series at the Ward W. O'Hara Agricultural & Country Living Museum and Dr. Joseph F.



Karpinski Sr. Educational Center, 6880 E. Lake Road, Owasco.

Norton will talk about the heyday of Enna Jettick Park, previously Lakeside Park, as well as Island Park. He will cover their development into two of the most popular amusement parks in the Finger Lakes. In a news release, the museum noted that Cayuga County taking over the park and turning it into Emerson Park will not be part of the presentation.

Admission and parking will be free and open to the public, and donations will be welcome. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call (315) 252-7644.
