KUWAIT CITY, June 2: Informed sources within the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy disclosed that the link with the Ministry of Interior to collect citizens’ electricity debts will be activated at the start of July. Sources revealed to Al-Jarida that these debts fluctuate daily due to the continuous provision of ministry services, with recent estimates ranging between 125 and 130 million dinars solely for private housing. The ministry remains steadfast in its commitment to recovering these debts for the benefit of public funds, following the completion of the link with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice.

The sources urged debtors to utilize the facilities provided by the Ministry to settle their debts promptly, especially about their interactions with the Ministry of Interior post-activation of the link. Dr. Mahmoud Boushahri, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, emphasized the ministry’s dedication to preventing the accumulation of debts on citizens, ensuring they do not become burdensome.



Through various means, particularly electronic platforms and Ministry-provided facilities, debtors can clear their dues without accumulation. The Ministry finalized the activation of the link with the Interior Ministry last May, segmenting debts starting from 500 dinars. Debtors are encouraged to take advantage of the extensive facilities offered by the Electricity customer service system to settle .
