Shadow of the Erdtree , the massive Elden Ring expansion that's releasing on the 21st June, won't bring any new Trophies to the open world RPG. This info comes from the ever-reliable PlayStation Game Size , and we can't help but be left baffled by FromSoftware's decision. As you may know, Trophy support is mandatory for all newly released PlayStation games — but that's not the case for DLC.
However, this supposedly monstrous expansion is priced at £34.99 / $39.99, so for it to completely skip Sony's digital trinkets seems absurd.
This isn't the first time that the Japanese developer has ignored Trophies, though. To date, the only FromSoftware DLC to sport additional gongs is Bloodborne's The Old Hunters — and that was partly developed by Sony's own Japan Studio. Still, it's 2024, and one of the biggest, most anticipated expansions of our time doesn't have Trophies.
How do you feel about this? We're confident the DLC will be superb regardless, but feel free to express disappointment in the comments section below. People will scoff at those who like trophies like they usually do, but this is actually crazy. What an odd choice.
They're throwing potential sales away for no reason. Meanwhile Sea of Thieves added 195 trophies on top of the base 59, no excuses. Thank god , that means it stays at 100% completion and i dont have to suffer this game again.
The last couple of hours of Elden ring were so bad. @Kanji-Tatsumi who is deciding not to buy dlc because it's not got trophie.
