US-based dancehall rapper El Benzo is pumped up about the early response to his debut Science Project EP which was released on June 28. "It was great to release a complete body of work, and it is a new landmark in my career. The EP release also caused a spike in the streams for my previously released singles, like Night Nurse , Pain and Rumours .

The seven-song EP features singles like My Intentions and Charter , tracks for which he recently released videos in consecutive weeks. El Benzo, whose given name is Lorenzo Gayle, recently performed at the El Deck club in the city of Medellin, Colombia, where he got a great reception from the audience. "They really love dancehall in Latin America.

It was my first time in Medellin and it was a wild vibe in the club; I can't wait to go back," he said. Born in the US, he grew up in New Jersey, where he attended Bloomfield Tech. He came to Jamaica during summer holidays and fell in love with the island's vibrant music and culture.
