fans have rumbled the reason for Chrissie Watts' return to Walford. After nearly two decades away from Walford, Chrissie (Tracy-Ann Oberman) is making a surprise comeback to the East End. The no-nonsense character was a regular on the One soap from 2004 until 2005 - but left a long lasting impact on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
As the wife of Dirty Den (Leslie Grantham), Chrissie became a fan favourite and appeared in 218 episodes. During her stint in Albert Square, Chrissie was the landlady of the Queen Vic and featured in numerous storylines - but she is mostly remembered for killing husband Den. Chrissie, along with Sam Mitchell and Zoe Slater took on evil Den, leading to his violent death.
The broadcast was watched by 14.34 million people - with "almost 60% of possible viewers" tuning in to see Chrissie killing Den. Chrissie bowed out of the Square in 2005 when she was sent to prison for Den's murder.
But 19 years on, and the soap icon is heading back to Walford later this year for a short stint. However, ahead of her return, fans have wasted no time in speculating what brings her back to the place she hated, with some convinced she has child that was Den's - meaning it's Sharon's adoptive brother. Sharon was adopted by Den and his wife Angie Watts (Anita Dobson), and later married Den's biological son, Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman).
The blonde bombshell later found out her real dad was villain Gavin Sullivan (Paul Nicholas), and found out she had a biological brother - Z.
