The search has entered its third day as Dr Michael Mosley is still missing (Image: PA Archive/PA Images) Dr Michael Mosley , the popular TV and radio presenter famed for his diet and exercise programmes, has mysteriously vanished on the Greek island of Symi. A search operation is currently underway for the 67 year old broadcaster who initially trained as a doctor before transitioning into broadcasting. He gained popularity through his work promoting the 5:2 diet and often subjected his body to extreme conditions for research purposes, including living with tapeworms in his intestines for six weeks for a documentary.

After studying PPE at Oxford, he pursued a career in investment banking, only to retrain as a doctor at the Royal Free Hospital in London later. However, after qualifying, he realised it wasn't the right profession for him and joined the BBC as a trainee assistant producer. Throughout his career with the broadcaster, he has presented numerous science programmes and films, including the series Trust Me, I'm A Doctor, which explored healthcare in Britain.
