A simple name change to the Genie+ ride reservation system will hopefully make the paid Disneyland front-of-the-line service a little easier to use and less confusing to understand. Disneyland will drop the Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane names on July 24 in favor of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. The paid Genie+ and Lightning Lane services took over for the free Fastpass service in December 2021 after the yearlong pandemic closure of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
The mix of the Genie, Genie+ and Lightning Lane names and signage combined with the memory of Fastpass lanes has been a constant source of confusion for Disneyland and DCA visitors. While the Genie+ name is going away, the Genie name (minus the plus) will still remain. The free Disney Genie personal assistance service in the Disneyland app that offers tips and tools for planning your day at the parks will still carry the Genie name.
The $30 Lightning Lane Multi Pass line-cutting perk is good for 22 attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The Lightning Lane Single Pass will cost you $16 to $26 to jump to the front of the line on a single marquee attraction — currently available on one attraction at each park. Disneyland will have 13 Lightning Lane Multi Pass attractions: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Pirates of the Caribbean, .
