Diljit Dosanjh has taken Punjabi music to the global level many times. After conquering Coachella, the singer is all set to make his debut on Jimmy Fallon's show. But did you know he once tried to run away from his house by stealing a few fruits from his house at the age of 8? During his appearance on Raj Shamani's podcast, as quoted by Indian Express, Diljit Dosanjh revealed, ''I tried to run away from my home at the age of 8.

There was a girl in my school, because of her I tried to run away from my house.'' He revealed that his seniors would ask him about the girl he liked. He pointed at a girl and they told him to confess his love to her.

And he did just that. ''I went to the girl and told her that you and I will get married. She went and complained to my teacher and my teacher was like ‘Go get your parents.

’ For me, it was the end of the world,'' Diljit Dosanjh recalled. ''So, the 8-year-old me opened the fridge, picked two bananas, some other fruits, took my cycle and just left. I just went say five minutes away from my house when one of the villagers just yelled at me,'' he continued.

He revealed how in village, anybody could yell at you and not just your parents. ''They were all like a family, they sometimes even slapped. So, this man made me return home when I tried to leave,'' he added.

To save himself from the punishment, Diljit pretended to have a stomach ache and skipped school for two days. Interestingly, his teacher also let go of the incident. ALSO SEE: Cov.
