Former Coronation Street villains Todd Boyce and Brian Capron gave all the details on Helen Worth 's exit alongside Sharon Marshall. The trio appeared on This Morning to chat with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard this Thursday, June 6, and reacted to the Gail Platt actress' upcoming departure from the long-running ITV program, after 50 years. Canadian actor Todd appeared in the Manchester-based program as Gail's half-brother Stephen Reid, a struggling businessman turned serial killer, from 1999 until 2023.

Brian, on the other hand, is known to long-term fans of the show as iconic Corrie villain Richard Hillman. Soap queen Sharon notably announced that Gail's exit from the cobbles will involve all members of the Platt family (with the exception of Stephen, who was mowed over by Peter Barlow) and the "emotional" storyline should be lasting until Christmas . "I'm still devastated", Sharon admitted when evoking the star's upcoming swan song.

Todd, on the other hand, made a huge revelation of his own during his appearance on the breakfast show - he knew that Helen was due to bow out of the show before anybody else and for several months. "I've remained friends with someone upstairs and they said 'do you want a bit of gossip?'", he recalled as he remembered harbouring the "terrible secret" alone, "I wish I hadn't had the secret, I didn't want to tell anyone." Helen Worth first appeared in Coronation Street as Audrey Roberts' happy-go-lucky daughter Gail Potter in 1974 before becoming in.
