Death in Paradise fans were thrilled DI Mooney was back on screens (Image: BBC) BBC Death in Paradise fans all said the same thing as the series returned to screens on Friday night. While filming for the upcoming series is currently underway, viewers were thrilled that the broadcaster aired an old episode from 2020. The programme saw former detective Jack Mooney (played by Ardal O'Hanlon) back on screens along with Ruby Pattison (Shyko Amos) and JP Hooper (Tobi Bakare).
The episode saw DI Mooney solving the murder of a famous cycler. The synopsis for the instalment reads: "There is great excitement in Saint Marie when the Tour des Antilles cycling race comes to the island but the event turns sinister when the favourite, Xavier Prince, is found dead halfway around. "All evidence initially points to Xavier having crashed on one of the most dangerous sections of the course, but Jack suspects it has more to do with the discovery of a piece of fabric torn from a cycling shirt.
However, one of the riders is keeping a sensitive secret." Taking to X to share their delight about the classic episode being shown, one fan said: "#DeathInParadise yes I have seen it before but still a brilliant show."
