Grammy-nominated Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, paid a courtesy visit to Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Monday in Abuja. This was announced in a statement posted on the Senate President’s X account on Monday, accompanied by photos. The statement read, “The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Monday received in audience Afrobeat Star, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido who was on a courtesy visit to the Senate President.
” Akpabio expressed his happiness at the visit and congratulated the Afrobeat Star on making Nigeria proud with his excellent performance. “You have made us very proud within the International Community,” Akpabio told Davido, who came in company of two of his cousins, Hon. Tunji Adeleke, son of his late uncle, Senator, Isiaka Adeleke, and Folasade Adeleke, daughter of Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, among others.
In a statement from his Media office yesterday in Abuja, Akpabio further said, “we will do everything possible to support the entertainment industry.” On the other hand, he tasked them with upholding their moral standards and avoiding peer pressure that would cause them to stray.
