A DATELINE host has teased fans of the show amid its sudden disappearance. Journalist and Dateline star Josh Mankiewicz confirmed the show will be coming back next month, amid the show's hiatus. Initially, fans were hurt when they found out that Dateline would not be airing its latest episode on Friday, June 21.
The show has been temporarily put on hiatus, so NBC could air the Olympic trials instead. Mankiewicz took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to poke fun at true crime lovers who were missing the show. He posted a photoshopped photo of him and co-star Keith Morrison driving past the Arc de Triomphe, in Paris, France.
"The only trials on NBC tonight are the ones without a defendant. #Dateline Friday returns 7/5 while we get ready for That Other Thing," he wrote. Fans were quick to react to the doctored photo.
"That’s the coolest picture ever!!" one person wrote. "Y’all are AWESOME!!" another person wrote. "This is so clever.
I expected nothing less," a third person added. However, some fans expressed their disappointment to the star. "Omg! Not good.
Guess I could go feed the turtle," one person responded. "We will miss you all!" another person wrote. "July??? Ugh.
...
I guess reruns it is. Can't fall asleep without you and Keith lulling me to dreamland," a fan commented. While fans are currently missing the show, Dateline revealed on Thursday that it still has episodes airing on another network.
"Tonight at 8/7c on a new #Dateline: Unforgettable on @Oxygen," the announc.
