A Tesla Cybertruck owner has reported that one of the company’s staff members said the electric vehicle’s wheel covers that have been filmed flying off on highways won’t return. While Tesla’s Cybertruck has a clean record on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website regarding its wheel covers, the automaker had said in March that these parts were under investigation , while some customers recently received delivery of the vehicle without the components. A Cybertruck Owner’s Club forum post from username @Skadoosh yesterday read: “I picked up my new Cybertruck on Tuesday the 18th.
‘I’m a mechanic - car shopping warning affects everyone with an unfixable problem’ Tesla pressured to deliver new self-driving tech with rival ‘really close’ to breakthrough “The Sales Manager told me that he had received an email that day from the higher ups saying that the wheel covers are not coming back. “Thought I’d pass on the word and see if anybody else had heard the same.” The claim received mixed reactions from Cybertruck enthusiasts, with one account writing: “No worries.
The aftermarket will fill in the void.” Another Cybertruck aficionado echoed: “I love the way they look. I need these covers, can’t believe nobody has aftermarket ones yet.
” A third member of this Cybertruck forum protested: “Then Tesla should pay us back the cost for the wheel covers.” In February, a forum member posted that they received a delivery.
