The CW has canceled another fan-favorite series, and the show’s star has shared an emotional tribute to fans on social media after the news breaking. The network, which is known for teen and young adult focused dramas, was once the home of hit shows like Gilmore Girls and Riverdale , and has said goodbye to the DC Comics show The Flash in recent years as well. However, while those shows finished their runs, the most recent ouster from the lineup was an unexpected one.

Following the news, Padalecki, who starred in the series and also served as an executive producer, took to Instagram to pay tribute and thank the fans. “Howdy y’all.



It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you. #Walker will not be airing on #CW for a fifth season,” he captioned a photo of his hat from the show. “It’s a tough piece of news to be sure, but we are SO thankful for the #WAlkerFamily that has been built, both on set and off,” he continued.
