fans think something heartbreaking is in store for Roy Cropper - despite being released from prison. The beloved character, played by David Neilson, was arrested earlier this year for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Fans will recall the troubled youngster has been missing since February - with Roy being the last known person to see her alive.
The search for Lauren then became a murder inquiry. And a slew of residents left fans suspicious, including Joel Deering (Calum Lill) and Roy - who ended up getting put behind bars accused of killing the teenager. However, in Thursday’s dramatic episode (May 30) fans learned that it was Joel who was responsible for Lauren’s disappearance.
But in a shock twist the cunning legal advisor has pushed the suspicion onto Nathan Curtis. Nathan (Chris Harper), who is Bethany Platt’s former abuser, has since been arrested in connection with the teen’s apparent death. This meant Roy was finally able to leave prison.
He quickly arrived back at the cobbles and received a welcome party thrown by Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman). However, while everyone else was over the moon, Roy was notably quiet. Now, fans are fearing that Roy’s prison stint has had a huge impact on him.
