ONE family living on the cobbles faces being forced out of Weatherfield. On tonight's edition of Coronation Street , Chesney Brown ( Sam Aston ) and Gemma Winter ( Dolly-Rose Campbell ) face more financial woes. The boiler has broken at number five and Gemma was left in the Roy's Rolls as she was fuming about the lack of action from her landlord.
Dee-Dee Bailey ( Channique Sterling-Brown ) happened to be nearby as she advised her fellow resident that if she has rights as long as they are not in any arrears are and she has paid the rent on time. The lawyer advises Gemma that she can report her landlord to the council for failing to do repairs. He could be served an improvement notice by the governing body and could face a fine of up to £30,000 if he ignores it.
Gemma later sends angry messages to her despondent landlord as he ignores her communication. The landlord then arrived on the doorstep of number five with a handyman to fix the boiler. After making it clear how offended he was by Gemma's messages, he then served the pair up a section 21 eviction notice as he revealed that they have two months to vacate the premises.
Dee-Dee then sat with the duo to go through their options as she confirmed that the landlord's action was indeed perfectly legal as it was a no fault eviction. With a lack of money, rising expenses and rising rent around the area the pair risk becoming homeless. Later Chesney's eldest child Joseph was seen to be lying to the parents of one of his school fri.
