The Family 1st Advisory Committee with the Victoria County Public Health Department is hosting a Community Baby Shower on August 3 for new parents and expecting families. On Saturday, August 3, at the Victoria Community Center Annex, a Community Baby Shower is being thrown from 10 a.m.

to 1 p.m. The first 300 attendees will receive size 1 diapers and a package of wipes.



Throughout the event, door prizes will be awarded every few hours. Door prizes include a Graco Pack ‘n Play, a Graco TrioGrow SnugLock 3-in-1 car seat, a Graco Simple Sway 2-in-1 Swing, a Jeep TurboGlyde 3-in-1 stroller, a VTech 2 camera 5” inch Digital video baby monitor and an Angel Line Monterey II Glider and Ottoman. Presentations will be held by community partners on car seat safety and how to prepare baby food at home.

Also in attendance will be the Victoria Public Library. They will doing three special story time sessions at the event. The Family 1st advisory Committee is focused on providing skills and resources for safe, healthy and successful children through parents who are connected with their children.

They hope to ensure that every parent and child will have the resources they need to be not only healthy and safe but successful as well. The committee is represented by faith-based organizations, non-profits, health, advocacy groups and family support agencies.
