The Castleknock native, who lives in the US, has been confirmed among the 2025 Hollywood Walk of Fame class.

He is in good company with late music star Prince, Jane Fonda, and Jessica Chastain among other celebrities on this year’s list. Long recognised as one of Ireland’s most successful actors, Farrell has received two Golden Globe Awards for Banshees of Inisherin and In Bruges. He was also nominated for an Oscar for his work in Banshees of Inisherin.



Farrell first hit screens as the loveable rogue Danny Byrne in BBC soap Ballykissangel in the 90s. In 1999 he got his big break when filmmaker Joel Schumacher cast Farrell as Boz in his movie Tigerland, about a group of soldiers in boot camp before heading for Vietnam. “I’m here because Joel Schumacher has balls big enough to give an Irish kid a chance to play a Texan in the lead role,” he later .
