Farrell first hit screens as the loveable rogue Danny Byrne in BBC soap Ballykissangel in the 90s. In 1999 he got his big break when filmmaker Joel Schumacher cast Farrell as Boz in his movie Tigerland, about a group of soldiers in boot camp before heading for Vietnam.
