Coldplay has turned into one of the most environmentally friendly major touring artists along with names like The 1975, Ed Sheeran, and Radiohead who have made efforts to reduce their carbon emissions during their World Tours. A couple of years back Coldplay had announced that they will not return to touring if they cannot find a sustainable way to do so. The band aimed at reducing 50% of their Co2 emissions and recently released a reports announcing that they have surpassed their original expectations.

And as promised the team has planted over 7 million trees (one for each concertgoer) and they will also be supported to maturity via One Tree Planted. The official report revealed that 'approximately 10,000 hectares of land has been restored across 24 countries and 48 planting projects' with the initiative.
Ed Shereen has been using biodiesel fuel for tour vehicles during his tours to reduce CO2 emissions, meanwhile, The 1975 has been using vegetable oil to power their tour buses and equipment. Coldplay has taken more initiatives including using kinetic dance floors to generate energy at the concerts which are then used to run equipment for the concerts. Solar panels were also used at the touring locations which reportedly generated 17kWh average.
