Paramount Pictures has revealed that WWE icon Cody Rhodes has officially joined the upcoming Naked Gun reboot as it barrels toward its 2025 premiere. Alongside confirmation that he’ll show up in the movie, the studio revealed that Liza Koshy (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Work It), CCH Pounder (The Shield, Avatar), and musical artist Busta Rhymes will also appear. They join a previously announced list of cast members that includes Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, and Danny Huston.
Details on how Koshy, Rhodes, Pounder, and Busta Rhymes fit into the untitled film’s story have yet to be revealed. Rhodes’ role in the Naked Gun reboot has been rumored for a while, as Daily Mail reported that he nabbed a "significant cameo" role last month. Deadline ’s sources also say that the WWE champion’s role is limited to a cameo.
Neeson, meanwhile, is tapped to star as Frank Drebin, a character first played by the late Leslie Nielsen in the original Naked Gun. The reboot was officially announced earlier this year and seems to be moving steadily toward its 2025 premiere, as Anderson was added to the cast only around a month later. Paramount’s unnamed Naked Gun refresh is directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island fame.
