BBC presenter Clive Myrie has stepped up this year and become one of the broadcaster’s lead presenters for the general election coverage. He’ll share hosting duties with Laura Kuenssberg and Jeremy Vine as the country decides who it wants to be Prime Minister. Clive, 59, who is originally from Lancashire, is a regular face on our television screens and can usually be seen hosting BBC News At 10, notably during the Russo-Ukranian war.

He is also known for taking over from Welsh TV star John Humphreys on long-running BBC quiz show Mastermind, a role he has held since 2021. During his career Clive, who attended the University of Sussex during the ‘80s, has also appeared on a slew of other shows including Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and more recently Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure, which you can read more about here . During his latest appearance in 2023 Clive poked fun at the past seven days’ new stories, particularly around former PM Boris Johnson. It was later claimed that he was "pulled" from that night's BBC News At Ten as a result but he later explained that the two shows had been just "too close" together.
