After multiple heats which saw amateur musicians from all around the country playing on street pianos, the best contestants will showcase their talents in one final performance. They’ve been mentored by maestros Mika and Lang Lang , and now, the magnificent seven amateur pianists take to the stage at Manchester’s Aviva Studios in front of a 2,000-strong crowd.

The last series saw 13-year-old contestant Lucy Illingworth who is blind and neurodivergent win with an incredibly moving performance - and go on to have her own spin-off episode. And when this series ends tonight, thankfully, there will be another for viewers to enjoy next year. Last July, Channel 4 confirmed The Piano had been recommissioned for series three which is expected to air in 2025.



They praised it as a show that ‘creates incredible opportunities for undiscovered pianists to showcase their talent on public pianos across the UK’. Speaking ahead of the second series, Ian Katz, Channel 4, chief creative officer sai.
