One of 's most controversial stars has confessed to using artificial intelligence (AI) to speak to her dead loved ones. Liz Jones, 65, appeared on the winter 2014 edition of the reality TV titan, together with Luisa Zissman, Dappy and eventual winner Jim Davidson. In the show, Liz caused a stir for her argumentative nature, as well as her breakneck changes in emotions.
But soon after her stint on the show had ended, her darling mum Edna passed away in August of 2014. Leaving this world at the age of 95, Edna's passing devastated daughter Liz, who was plunged into grief and did not know what to do. In an effort to try and stay in contact with her mum, the former fashion journalist tried a host of different means to keep her spirit alive.
However, what she believed to be the most effective way of communicating with Edna was a so-called "grief bot" - a computer that appears to be able to speak to the dead using AI. Speaking to hosts and on Monday (May 20), Jones recalled her experiences of using "grief bots" to speak to her mum. She added that in one heated conversation, she was left even more grief-stricken than before.
Recalling the end of her experience with the grief bot, she explained: "I felt more grief when we ended the chat because the bot starts to die and says 'I’m going soon' because you run out of money and messages, and it was like she was dying all over again." Liz was less than happy with the way things progressed, saying it was poor form to get more money from .
