Mountain Mowzer. Jennifer Catpurr. Those are just some of the cat-lebrities who will make an appearance at Cat Fest Colorado this Saturday at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.
Returning to the Springs for its third year, Cat Fest Colorado is, as its name implies, about all things cat — featuring educational programs, adoptions, celebrity cat meet-and-greets and cat goods. “It’s a day to celebrate cats — all things cat. So we try to kind of cover all the bases of what cats are about and why people love cats,” said event organizer Dana Cain.
Adoption is one of the main focuses of Cat Fest Colorado, Cain said. Since its debut in 2022, the festival has helped adopt out 152 feline friends in need of homes. This year, the expo will host eight shelters and rescues on site in hopes of adopting out even more kitties.
The festival will have two stages, an educational stage and a main stage. Veterinarians and cat experts will be presenting on the educational stage, while the main stage will be host to several contests and showcases. The International Cat Association will also be presenting a cat show throughout the day.
Perhaps the most anticipated part of the show is the meet-and-greets, where attendees can connect with their favorite internet-famous cats. “Anybody can go up and meet them, pet them, get their photo, all that kind of good stuff,” Cain said. There will also be several .
