Dos Dos is kinda fun to say, again and again. Although repetition isn’t always enjoyable, it’s necessary to be heard here. This casual, fast dining establishment is a happening place, which is why it gets noisy.

If you go for the food, drinks and to enjoy the downtown vibe, it shouldn’t matter if you can’t always hear your dining companions. Of course, it does. It helps, though, that food arrives quickly, is tasty and service is attentive.

The menu is basic: burritos, tacos and several appetizers highlighting Mexican flavors. Tacos come three to an order ($12) with the options of corn or flour tortilla or hard shell. There’s a $3 upcharge for three different tacos — vs.

three with the same filling. Getting a combo is the best way to sample a variety of flavors. Carne asada featured finely diced marinated beef topped with chopped onions and cilantro.

More of the advertised tomatillo would have been nice since it was barely evident. This didn’t quite reach the bar of a true Mexican street taco, but it was close. Dos Dos Restaurant (Located at: 131 N.

The menu indicated avo verde, basically avocado salsa, but like the tomatillo in the carne asada taco, its presen.
