The rebooted Carry On franchise is going to kick off with 15 pantos. ‌They will be staged simultaneously across the length and breadth of Britain as part of a ‘Carry On Laughing’ event to relaunch the cheeky series. The pantos will be put on in family-friendly resorts including Blackpool and Brighton to prove their raunchy humour is “for everyone”.

Owners of the Carry On Entertainment Group – which now has the legal rights to the franchise – added the shows are going to be a “refreshing antidote to wokery” and “the fun Britain needs these days”. They are planning to use the pantos as a “soft launch” for the franchise before turning it into a West End musical – then a new series of films. Nigel Gordon-Stewart, who runs the business with his pal Brian Baker, told the Daily Star: “These pantos will be a return to vaudeville and variety shows, and bring back the idea that a bit of good, old-fashioned British comedy is good for everyone and all the family.

“Wokery isn’t going to come into these productions, because no one can get offended by a Carry On panto.” Nigel added “big names” in entertainment and comedy are being lined up for the shows. He said: “These pantos are going to be held next summer, and we’re going to have all sorts of famous faces popping up in them.

“They will be stepping into leading roles and cameos – but we have to keep their identities under wraps for now.” The 31 iconic British Carry On movies produced huge.
