Cara Delevingne has recalled getting drunk at a wedding when she was just eight years old. The model and actress, now 31, has been candid about her sobriety and battle with addiction , and she has recalled drinking as a child on her auntie’s wedding day. During a conversation with the Sunday Times , the interviewer reminded Cara that they first met in 2001.

‘You know I got drunk that day,’ she admitted. ‘I was eight, what a crazy age to get drunk.’ The Only Murders In The Building star explained that she used to use drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism, but eventually learned that real impact they were having on her.



‘I used to think drugs and alcohol helped me cope ...

but they didn’t, they kept me sad and super depressed,’ she said. ‘I feel like I’ve got my power back and I’m not being controlled by other things.’ Getting clean has had a profound impact, as Cara admitted her house fire earlier this year would still have her ‘reeling’ if she wasn’t sober.

She added: ‘It sucks but everyone was safe and, like anything, if I’d not been sober I would still be reeling over that.’ Still, Cara recently confessed she was struck with surprise ‘pain’ from going sober, and she suffered ‘terrible’ headaches after nights out drinking sugar-packed soft drinks instead. She told The Sun in a chat to promote her new wine: ‘Nearly two years ago when I got sober, I thought, “I probably won’t go out as much, my life’s probably going to chan.
