Byker Grove star Terry Joyce has died as co-stars pay tribute to the star. The entertainment world is reeling from the sudden loss of Terry, the cherished actor who graced the 90s hit show Byker Grove as Gerry. Terry, a stalwart on our screens for years, recently appeared in the BBC sitcom Hebburn playing a solicitor and was also known for his roles in the Newcastle-set Spender with Jimmy Nail, and the iconic Super Gran.

The star, who helped launch Ant and Dec to stardom through Byker Grove, was also a legend on the comedy scene across the northeast and further afield. Comedian Sue Sweeney took to Facebook to express her sorrow: "So very sad to hear the news of the passing of one of the great North East Comedians and my Friend Terry Joyce, he was such a lovely man with the most incredible humour. Fly high Terry you gave us so many laughs.

" BBC radio legend Paul 'Goffy' Gough also paid his respects on Facebook, saying: "Sad news today re the passing of the lovely Terry Joyce. A lovely lad and a fabulous comedian. Terry worked with the very best and they loved working with him.

A huge loss to the North East and beyond. Rest in peace Terry and thanks for the many laughs." Stand-up comedian Gary Marshall penned a heartfelt tribute on the social media platform X, originally known as Twitter: "Sleep well, mate! Worked with Terry Joyce for the 1st time at Harehills WMC in the 90s , laughed long and hard! ! ! A real Comedians comedian.

" Meanwhile, another remembrance poured on Facebo.
