Jeremy Tepper, the famous program director of SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country, has died at 60 years old from a sudden heart attack. Jeremy was well-known for his decades-long work in the entertainment industry as a talented musician, journalist, executive, and program director for the radio channel SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country. During his 20 years leading the channel, he became one of the most influential leaders of the Americana/alt-country music movement.

On Friday, the famous program director tragically died from a sudden heart attack in Jackson Heights, New York. Singer-songwriter and DJ Laura Cantrell who was happily married to Tepper for 27 years, broke the heartbreaking news on social media. In the Facebook post, Laura wrote: "I am heartbroken to share the news of the passing of my husband, Jeremy Tepper, who died suddenly today of a heart attack here in Jackson Heights.



Jeremy was an amazing, unique person, a loving father, son, brother, and friend who was close with so many of you, especially his many friends in the music world. We will share more soon about plans to celebrate his life, but we are devastated by this unimaginable loss and ask for privacy and time to grieve." Musician and actor Steven Van Zandt also shared a loving tribute to Tepper on social media after the news of his death broke.

On X, formerly Twitter, Steven wrote: "Lost my good friend Jeremy Tepper last night. An incredibly tragic loss so young. He ran my Outlaw Country station on SiriusXM brilliantly.
